Are Chicken Feet Good for Dogs

When it comes to caring for a dog, one of the most important tasks you will have is controlling their diet. Dogs are omnivores, meaning they require food from both animal and plant sources. When it comes to a dog’s dietary needs, they require 6 basic nutrients: water, protein, carbs, fats, minerals, and vitamins. A dog’s body requires these nutrients in order to function properly. There are plenty of other nutrients that are also important, such as fiber, which is essential for healthy digestion.

What type of meat can dogs have?

Heavy in protein, there are a bunch of different types of meat that are healthy for your dog. These include chickens, beef, turkey, lamb, and steak. You should only feed your dog human grad meat. That being said, preparation is key when it comes to what types of meat a dog can consume. It is important to know that ALL FORMS of raw meat are extremely dangerous for dogs. Raw meat frequently carries harmful bacteria, specifically salmonella, that can cause serious digestive issues for your dog. In serious cases, this can cause dog leaky gut. Raw meat can also carry e coli, which is why it is so important to only feed your dog meat that has been thoroughly cooked.

If you are feeding your dog cooked meat, you should make sure that the meat does not have any sauce or spice that can harm your dog. You should never feed your dog any meat that has touched any onion or garlic, as both of these are extremely toxic for your dog. You should also never feed your dog meat that contains a lot of preservatives. We don’t recommend feeding your dog bones from raw or cooked meat, as they can easily break and splinter which can cause serious cuts in your dog’s digestive tract. This is usually the case if you feed your dog a bone, and they start coughing or spitting up blood soon after.

Are chicken feet good for dogs?

Yes, chicken feet are very good for dogs. While it is probably safe to feed your dog chicken’s feet from your own farm, we recommend feeding your dog commercial, packaged chicken feet. This is because all comercial chicken feet have to be USDA inspected and the supplier must be registered by the Food and Drug Association. Below we are going to share all of the benefits of feeding your dog chicken feet.

Why are chicken feet good for dogs?

First off, chicken feet are good for dogs because they usually contain zero additives. This means no salt, sugar, artificial flavors/coloring, steroids, and no preservatives. This is extremely important, because as we mentioned earlier preservatives in meat can be harmful for your dog.

Most chicken feet are tested for bacteria. This means you don’t have to worry about your dog getting salmonella or e coli. Chicken feet also are high in glucosamine and chondroitin which help maintain joint health. Chicken feet are also great for maintaining your dog’s dental health. The chicken feet help remove plaque and tartar from your dog’s teeth.

Best of all, chicken feet are perfect for dogs that are picky eater. Chicken feet are usually smoked at low temperatures for a longer period of time. This helps bring out a very tasty, meaty flavor. Chicken feet offer a great crunchy taste for your dog, and are much safer than real bones.
